About Betta Days Trauma Therapy

Hello, I’m Sam – Lead Counsellor at Betta Days

I am constantly inspired by the strength and resilience people show in the face of adversity. Through my work (and life), I’ve seen how resilience often exists long before people recognise it in themselves. I’m deeply passionate about using evidence-based, trauma-informed practices to help people recognise and build on their existing strengths to create meaningful and lasting change.

I draw on a range of approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and tailor them to what each person needs. Therapy is structured, with clear goals, a beginning and an end, so it feels purposeful and respectful of your time. Betta Days is a Registered NDIS Provider.

At Betta Days, You won’t be left wondering where your therapy is going.

Trauma creates change you don't choose.

Healing is about creating change you do choose.

The Betta Days Difference

My counselling room isn't your typical clinic. It's designed to feel more like a campfire — warm, earthy, and unhurried. There are cushions on the floor, natural textures, and space to create.

I believe healing happens best when people feel genuinely comfortable. So before we ever talk about anything hard, we talk about you — what you love, what you find funny, what makes you feel calm. We go at your pace. Always.

This approach honours TF-CBT's evidence base while making space for the whole person — not just the trauma.

Betta Days Therapy Workbooks

Our Betta Days workbooks are thoughtfully designed to support children, teens, and adults as they move through the trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT) process in a structured and empowering way. Using our “Trauma Mountain” analogy, each workbook provides a clear pathway through treatment — helping clients understand where they are, why each step matters, and how each session builds toward greater confidence, regulation, and healing.

With practical activities, reflection prompts, and visual guides, the workbooks bring purpose and direction to therapy while making the journey feel manageable and achievable.
