Individual Counselling

Individual counselling at Betta Days is available for adults and children aged 9 and up.

Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, big life changes, or the impact of past experiences, sessions offer a safe space to make sense of what’s happening and work towards change.

What to expect

Your first session is about getting to know you: what’s brought you here, what’s important to you, and what you’d like to be different. Together, we’ll set clear goals so you know what we’re working towards from the start.

From there, sessions draw on evidence-based approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailored to your needs. You’ll build practical skills to manage difficult thoughts and feelings, and move towards what matters most to you. We’ll check in on progress along the way, and plan an ending together once your goals are met.

All support is trauma-informed, so we work at your pace and with your sense of safety in mind.

Trauma can change how we think, feel and see the world

but it doesn’t get to define the future

Where sessions happen

Adults are seen in our calm, comfortable office in Kurri Kurri. Children have sessions in our camp-style room, a relaxed, non-clinical space designed to help them feel at ease.

For children and families

Parents and carers are part of the process, particularly at the start, so we can understand your child’s needs and help you support them at home.

You don’t have to wait until things feel broken.

Whether you're inquiring for yourself, your child, or someone you care about — reaching out is the hardest part, and you've already done it by being here.
